如今再檢視這些成交的網名,有的是「撿到便宜」,有的則是當了「冤大頭」。
像blackjack.com如今的價值至少五百萬美元以上,隨著網路賭博愈來愈盛行,當初只花四十多萬美金實在很划算。 另外像internet.com只花十萬,也很值得。drugs.com和forsalebyowner.com都只花了八十多萬美元,也是划算的交易。 至於創下天價的business.com,我個人覺得以它今天的網站價值來看,實在不值得。這個名字本身的價值是否有七百五十萬元美金那麼高,見仁見智,但它的實際應用價值肯定沒那麼多。這算是一個冤大頭。 至於香港李嘉誠集團花了二百五十萬元買下tom.com,以現在來看,根本是個超級大頭,當初只因為網路泡沫,只要是個單字的.com都值錢,tom.com除了能當Tom先生小姐的家族網站或信箱之外,它唯一的優點就是只有三個字母,但花二百五十萬美金拿它來做入口網站,除了因為錢多得花不完之外,別無道理。 不過香港人的手筆和眼光依然值得我們注意和學習,李氏集團不只買了Tom.com,另外為了找到符合他新公司名稱的網名cyberworks.com,據說也花了將近三百多萬美金去買這個網址,他們不會為了不捨得買網名而更改公司名稱,反而是選定了公司名稱後,再十分氣魄地去「找」網名,只要出得起大錢,還怕網名不到手?而後來she.com也到了他們手裡,這個網名是既短而且意義豐富,我估計交易價格至少要翻二番,這還是泡沫破滅後的價格。如果是和tom.com差不多時期成交的,可能要比tom.com多上三、四百萬美元。 反觀台灣的企業,不僅沒有網名即品牌的觀念,而且還常常會搞一些和企業本身品牌或公司名號不搭邊的網名,他們以為網名只是另一個「目錄」而已。 |

americanradio.fm 450,000 SALE May 1999 不知真的還假的?雖然那年頭正是泡泡最大的時候,不過也有如beauty.cc這種假買賣的情況發生。 剛剛看了這個網址,顯然還在某個網名仲介商手上等著待價而估。所以先前這個交易紀錄可能又是一個左手賣給右手的假買賣 |

我想網名珍貴應該在於簡短、響亮、好記、有意義...
一個由四個單字構成的網名... 無論再怎麼有意義... 都無法構成頂級網名的要件... 就以 forsalebyowner.com 為例... sale.com sales.com forsale.com 都肯定比他要好... 再不然... esale.com isale.com e-sale.com i-sale.com 也都不比他差... 何況網名還要合乎"國際性"... 非英語系國家不能接受的東西也就不太符合這個條件... 80萬美金... 我還是認為不是"冤大頭"就是"作價"... (forsalebyowner.com.tw 沒有人註冊...) |
